I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) - Movie Review

Image
Another year, another legacy sequel to a long-dormant horror franchise. I Know What You Did Last Summer is the fourth installment in this particular franchise. It ignores I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer and instead serves as a sequel to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer , but it comes off as a remake of the original. I have never liked this franchise, and I firmly believe it’s disappointing. It simply does not deliver! None of the films in this series offers anything entertaining, creative, or scary. So what did I think of this latest installment? Did it finally win me over? Absolutely not! This film was a complete disaster! It was so spectacularly awful, so moronic and completely disrespectful to its audience, it almost makes me appreciate the original film. Yes, I stand by that! Where do I begin? Isn't this supposed to be a sequel? To me, it feels more like a remake. It's a complete rehash of the original, with the exact same plot! The only aspec...

Superman - Movie Review

Image
Superman is the first installment of the new DC Universe, it was written and directed by James Gunn and features a cast that includes David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Alan Tudyk and Bradley Cooper. In Superman, Superman must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice, and the human way he soon finds himself in a world that views these values as old-fashioned. Superman was my most anticipated comic book movie of the year for two reasons: it promised to bring Superman back to his roots, being a symbol of hope and the good in humanity and bringing back the lighthearted tone rather than being dark and and gritty, and that James Gunn was at the helm. James Gunn has made some of the best comic book films in the past decade, including the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and The Suicide Squad.  So when it was announced that James Gunn was behind it I was thrilled! Did the movie live up t...

Jurassic World: Rebirth - Movie Review

Image
Jurassic World: Rebirth is the latest film in the Jurassic Park franchise and this time it's directed by Gareth Edwards, and stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend and many other. So in this film, a team travels to a former research facility on an island to extract samples of things vital for a treatment for heart disease and also rescue a shipwrecked family, but then they struggle to survive as they become stranded on the island and face dinosaurs. I was kind of hopeful for this movie, none of the people behind the previous 3 films were behind this one so this was pretty much like a fresh start. I love Gareth Edwards as a director, and it was back to basics, none of this boring bugs nonsense like the atrocious previous installment Jurassic World: Dominion.   This movie is a dumb, fun monster flick—nothing more, nothing less. It may not be a masterpiece, but when it comes to enjoyable summer entertainment, there are certainly worse options out there. Ga...
